What is it
Break out your scissors, paint, pens, clay and glue; it’s time for Art Class with Dr. Panda!
Children can make their own kites and pinwheels and play with them when they’re done. Start spinning that clay, and make a pot, vase, cup or whatever they can imagine. They can even use fruit to create their own little friends. There are lots of ideas in Dr. Panda’s Art Book!

What our experts think
It was lovely to see how happy children were when they had finished making the various arts and crafts – the pinwheel was probably their favourite! One girl waved her hands in the air in excitement when she had made hers, and went back to make another one. Children also liked playing with the pot maker, experimenting with the effects of dragging it in different directions.
Art Class with Dr. Panda can help develop children’s creativity, and may also inspire them to try the crafts in real life by building their confidence in their abilities and giving them new ideas. The crafts help children practice following step-by-step instructions, and some (such as the plastic bead picture maker – similar to hama beads) help promote fine motor skills.
It would be even better if...
Younger children might need some help at first on how to make the crafts, particularly those involving folding which didn’t seem intuitive to 3 year olds. Younger children may also need the Art Book pointing out to them.
