What our experts think
The funny reactions were a hit with our testers and the app was really easy for them to use on their own. Gigglymals is a good app for keeping little ones entertained or distracted for a short time – they enjoyed exploring all of the interactions and found the animals hilarious, but there’s not enough to keep children’s attention for longer than a few minutes (although our testers did come back to the game later).
Young children can explore cause and effect by seeing the different effects they can create by tapping or swiping, while the expressions shown by the animals teach them about emotions. The game can be a great resource for parents to get kids naming or comparing the animals. Parents did find the music annoying but unfortunately this can’t be turned off; the children didn’t mind it though.
