What is it
“Nighty Night!” by Fox & Sheep is an interactive storybook style app focusing on being part of a daily bedtime ritual (although of course it can be played at any time of day). The player moves through each area of the scene interacting with the cute animals as they go, listening to the sweet lullaby music and great narration.
All around the house the lights go out, and in the barn even the animals are tired. But who puts them to bed? Who turns out the lights in their stalls? That is the task for small children aged 18 months -4. Help them to find the light switches and watch all the animals go to sleep. This is a lovely way to set the mood for bedtime.
What our team of testers said
"Look an egg came out Mummy!" (he laughs and keeps pressing to see it doing it again) - Boy, aged 4
"I need to say goodnight to all the animals and turn their lights out - good night dog!" - Girl, aged 3
- Encourages a bedtime routine
- Promotes observation and exploration skills
What our experts think
Beautiful illustrations and wonderful narration make this such a lovely app for children. The interactions are delightful and keep children entertained. Children enjoyed this app whether it was bedtime or not and loved turning out the lights on each animal.
As a sweet interactive bedtime story, the quality of this app really makes it stand out for us.
It would be even better if...
More interactions and written words to follow along on screen to encourage literacy skills in older children would be even better.
