What to look for?

At age 6:

Reading, writing and spelling games are popular at this age and reiterates their school learning program. Peers are gaining in importance to the child and activities where they can work or play together will strengthen these friendships.

At age 7:

Active play is becoming increasingly easier, sports and physical tasks allows them to burn off excess energy and explore further a field. Creative play encourages imagination and allows them to express themselves and their emotions whilst having fun.

At age 8:

A healthy competition maybe forming inside your child, this is fine as long as they learn to both win and lose. Educational games and toys are particularly interesting as they are keen to seek for new adventures and knowledge. Science is interesting and different, offering an exciting and often explosive alternative.

How we review our apps

Every toy submitted to the Guide is firstly tested by the important people – children.

While the children play, they are observed by professionals who have been trained to carry out research with children in a robust, and ethically responsible way.

These apps are then put through their paces by our team of experts to ensure they meet our strict criteria in three main areas – Fun, Ease of Use and Skills Developed.
