A delightful and engaging book that appealed to our little testers and their carers! The children liked the different textures on the pages; this element helped to hold their attention as it gave a tactile element to story time. Sensory stimulation is great as it fosters baby’s curiosity and teaches them about the world around them. Reading books to young children also teaches them the basic behaviours of reading – it shows them how to hold a book, turn the pages and use the pictures to tell a story.
With very young children the book can just be read; as the children get older they can engage in the book and the adult can start to question them about the different features. We liked that the book extended this even further with the matching section which promotes concentration and logic.
