What our experts think
Our testers loved the colourful pictures and touch-and-feel features in the Clap Hands books. The Kittens and Puppies books were the most popular because it gave children the chance to talk about their own pets. They were excited to be clapping their hands while the book was read, but there was a bit of confusion around why they were clapping! The different opportunities for interacting are a great way to encourage an interest in books and develop concentration skills.
The surprise fold-out page at the end was good and encouraged children to practise counting; there are also opportunities for matching and other activities, with support from an adult.
