What is it
A story that starts in English and ends in French, by gradually introducing French words.
When a little girl has her words blown away in a storm, she sets off on an adventure to get them all back. But word searches can be tricky, especially when they involve dinosaur snot, treasure maps, and cups of verbal tea.
Little linguists will be introduced to over 50 foreign words throughout the story thanks to our innovative Clockwork Methodology®, as well as perfecting their accents with the accompanying audiobook that can be downloaded for free with the book.

What our experts think
The Great Français Word Search is a very clever book for teaching children French. We love the way the French words are gradually introduced as part of the story, providing context instead of asking children to memorise individual words, in the same way children pick up new English vocabulary. Our testers enjoyed the story and were very happy at the end when they could show off their new language skills.
When they were stuck, children could use the beautiful illustrations to work out the words. The book does rely on children having good reading skills to read the story and be able to predict what the French words might be, but with an adult’s support this can be a good learning opportunity.
