What is it
A colourful, entertaining and informative Journal featuring The Conies (animated road cones) to help children learn about road safety and how to get to and from school safely.
The Journal also teaches children about time, eating the right food, dressing properly for weather conditions and how to be seen by drivers. Stranger danger is also included as well as being aware of dangerous substances when playing out and about.

What our experts think
We felt that the journal would be an excellent resource for the classroom as it teaches children about different elements of daily life; the information was visually entertaining and the interactive element will keep The Conies fresh. Our testers really enjoyed the activity aspects of the journal: drawing, spot the difference and word searches.
The children needed to follow the instructions in order to be successful in the activities, which encourages skills in concentration and attention. They also needed to take on board what they had learnt and apply it in their everyday lives – the adults involved noticed evidence of the children’s learning when they were out and about. It is a great resource for encouraging discussion; our testers enjoyed talking about the different issues. Our parents particularly liked that the journal provided new material on current safety messages (Internet Safety in particular).
