What our experts think

Busy Grow features lots of lovely colour and detail to engage children in reading and its theme encourages discussion and an interest in how food and plants are grown. There are lots of interesting features to explore and children enjoyed pushing, pulling and sliding the tabs.

As well as challenging their hand-eye coordination, this also helps children to explore cause and effect, as they observe what is happening as a result of their actions (e.g. water coming out of the watering can and seeds falling onto the ground). Describing what is happening in the story and how the scene changes is a great way of developing language skills and is an important part of reading comprehension too.
