Description

This fun cactus toy encourages little hands to grab and grow with tactile pieces made for active play. When children grab the colourful flowers and spikes and push and twist them into Carlos the Pop & Count Cactus™ from Learning Resources®, they develop strength in the wrist, thumb, and forefinger. This helps them build the hand strength and coordination they need to do fine motor-dependent tasks such as feeding themselves and getting dressed.

What our testers said

“I like the purple flower” – Girl aged 2

“I am putting in the number 3 one because I am 3” –  Girl aged 3

What our experts think

Carlos The Pop & Count Cactus™ is your perfect fine motor companion. His friendly face invites young children to put his numbered ‘spikes’ and brightly coloured flowers in place on his sturdy cactus body. Our young testers loved naming the colours of Carlos’s spikes and flowers and finding the number spike that matched their age. Our older testers loved the chunky size of the pieces that are perfectly sized for a toddler hand without being small enough to pose a choke hazard. Add to that their textured surface that makes them easier to grip and you couldn’t really ask for more. They loved how the pieces store conveniently inside the flowerpot to keep all the elements together. Carlos The Pop & Count Cactus™ will help to develop fine motor skills and hand eye coordination in young children. It encourages colour and number recognition and supports early counting skills.
