A great product that allows children to explore the ‘magic’ of magnetism whilst building their own constructions. This allows them to investigate the scientific concept as they play, complimenting their learning on the national curriculum. Our testers loved the way the rods glow in the dark, this was a great addition to the set and definitely made it more popular.
As the children constructed different shapes, there was scope for discussing and furthering their knowledge of different shapes and 3D constructions (covered in the primary school maths curriculum). The set promotes creativity, as children used their imaginations to create different structures using the magnets. Construction toys like this are also good for hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness, as the pieces are quite small to handle and manoeuvre. Our only criticism is that the set is a little small which limited the children’s creativity slightly.
