What our experts think

Our testers loved how the pieces ‘stuck’ together and quickly set about making their own constructions. The system is simple and intuitive to use and all of the children worked out what to do without adult input. Constructing the Geomag pieces requires a degree of fine motor control, making this a good toy for those who are working on these skills, including hand-eye coordination.

The children enjoyed explaining how the magnets worked and using their scientific knowledge which is great for furthering their understanding of these kinds of scientific concepts through play. Our testers were also very creative and enjoyed making their own constructions, which shows this is also a great set for important imaginative play. With adult interaction, there is also real scope for developing children’s knowledge and understanding of 2D and 3D shapes and their properties (as covered in the KS1 and KS2 curriculums) as you build together.
