Description
The Tomy Toomies Pop and Hatch is silly, interactive and farmyard fun. This mother hen has an egg to look after, but she needs to nip out to the shops as well.
Press on the mother hen’s head and she’ll run along with a bobbing, rocking motion that will delight young children.
Look out! She’s run too fast and her egg has fallen out of the buggy and hatched into a cute chick. Close the egg and pop it back into the buggy to repeat the silly story over and over.

What our experts think
The Toomies Pop & Hatch is great for encouraging active play in young children, as they crawl after the popping egg. Our little testers enjoyed watching the egg pop out of the basket and ‘hatch’, we saw a few giggles! At this age, simple toys featuring repetition like this one are great, as young children enjoy watching it again and again and it even teaches them basic cause and effect logic.
Some of our testers did need to be encouraged and shown how to use the toy correctly (i.e. pressing the chicken’s head to set it rolling), but once they got this, they enjoyed setting it off and chasing after the egg. This is great for strengthening big muscles in the body needed for crawling, standing and eventually, walking.
