Description
The Shake and Sort cupcakes are a stacking toy with a difference! Children can match the shapes on the bottom of the cupcake cases to the box and shake the cakes to hear them rattle. Little ones will love separating the cupcakes from their cases and stacking them on top of each other on the plate. They can use the cakes and plate in their imaginative play.
What our testers said
“Despite being a fairly simple concept, my children have chosen to play with this toy again and again.” Father of two
“It’s really nice to find a toy my children can both enjoy, and that they can play with together.” Mother of 6- & 25- month olds
What our experts think
This vibrant stacking toy was very popular with our little testers (and their parents!). Children were intrigued by what was inside the box and loved the cupcakes when they got inside. It’s nice that the Shake & Sort Cupcakes appeals to babies as well as toddlers – little ones loved rattling the cakes (and were delighted by the noises they made) while older ones enjoyed stacking and sorting, developing colour and shape recognition and matching skills. This also helps to improve dexterity and coordination, which are important skills for things like doing up coat zips or holding a pencil to write.
Once the children had finished building towers with the cupcakes, they moved on to a tea party and the cupcakes became part of their role play – this is good for imaginative and collaborative play. Our testers did struggle to get the plate out of the box and needed adult assistance to do this, apart from this the toy was very easy to play with.
