What our experts think
The flip and learn phone is a great role-play toy that encourages children to talk – it’s great for vocabulary building and for encouraging reluctant talkers. Role play allows children to build confidence and promotes storytelling skills, as well as allowing them to act out and make sense of situations – lots of the children recreated real life scenarios by pretending they were talking to their family members. Our testers really enjoyed playing with the phone and loved pressing the buttons and seeing what happened – this teaches early cause and effect logic as well as basic number recognition. The phone was very intuitive to use; our only suggestion was that it could have been made a little louder.
