What is it
This drawing aid teaches children how to draw a variety of pictures, in four simple steps:
- Basic outline (e.g. body of a butterfly)
- Adding elements to the basic outline (e.g. the butterfly’s wings)
- Adding detail (e.g. large pattern outline on the wings)
- Completing the final picture on the stencil (e.g. smaller decorations on the wing)
To make drawing easier, Dessineo features a light up projector that when turned on creates a perfect outline of the stencil shown on the transparent picture templates, designed to make it simpler for children to draw accurately around the lines, whilst enlarging the picture on the template by more than 200%. There are three increasing levels of drawings for children to practice with and children will grow in confidence and ability to draw more shapes and pictures.
The Dessineo features the drawing board with handle, light projector and turntable, 30 drawing templates, 10 background sheets of A4 and 1 black marker. The product can then be neatly stowed away inside the transparent lid, making it ideal for the littles ones wanting to draw on the go.
Dessineo ‘Learn to Draw’ is a specially designed artistic learning aid perfect for stimulating the creativity and imagination in children, as they learn how to draw fun and entertaining pictures. Dessineo teaches children to draw in fun and simple step-by-step way – rather than just tracing simple shapes, your child can create pictures of as animals, vehicles, fantasy characters, buildings and more.

What our experts think
The Dessineo ‘Learn to Draw’ provides children with an aid for creating pictures they can truly be proud of. Our testers really enjoyed letting their creativity flow and were impressed with the outcomes, easily creating their own masterpieces. Once they’d finished the template, they could let their imagination run wild to add the finishing personal touches. The children loved the choice of templates and loved the fact that their pictures were ‘better than usual’ when they had finished, which is great for building children’s confidence in their drawing skills. The set starts children off tracing and copying, but this helps them pick up certain techniques that will translate to freehand drawing (such as how to move the pen smoothly for a clean line). This is also an excellent way for younger children who are learning to write, to improve their control of a pen/pencil by practising different line shapes.
Some children loved it so much they quickly used up all the paper included – but it’s great that normal A4 paper will still work (or the original sheets can be photocopied if you want to keep the background features).
