What our experts think
This microscope engages children in active learning about the different properties of objects, helping them to build their scientific knowledge and vocabulary. Our testers were fascinated by the prepared slides and enjoyed using the different magnification options to investigate them. They worked together to create their own slides, which really encouraged their creativity – we saw tomato juice, hand cream, fabric and even dog hair used!
The creative role play element really enhanced learning, as the children took it in turns to play investigator and examine the textures of different objects close up. They even had a competition to see who could pick the object that would have the most interesting texture under the microscope. This was great for promoting discussion and we heard some great descriptive language and scientific vocabulary being used.
