What is it
With the DOC Smart Educational Robot, children can learn as they play by programming commands. The friendly robot can be programmed to roam at will or follow the pre-programmed route on the game cards. When used in smart mode, Doc will recognise its position on the game board and offer suggestions for playing the game to the child.
DOC – Program the route, avoid the obstacles, learn by trial and error, and complete the mission!

What our experts think
The DOC Smart Educational Robot was a real hit with our testers; the robot is bold and appealed to the children, and the mats/cards are brightly coloured and clearly designed. We liked the way in which there was a level of progression (through the different mats) as the children learnt the basics of coding. The instructions (which were aimed at the adults) were straightforward and easy to follow and, once they got started, the children enjoyed programming the robot; the younger children did need assistance on their first attempt (from an adult or older child). As the children became more experienced at coding, they started to think of different strategies to achieve the desired actions – there was a good level of problem solving and decision making throughout play.
