What our experts think
It was lovely seeing the children explore the kitchen – turning the tap on and making a ‘whoosh’ sound, setting the clock, and more. This role play is great for helping children understand the world around them, by acting out things they have seen their parents doing (e.g. preparing a meal).
Sets like the Hape Aqua Retro Kitchen can encourage children to play together, supporting social skills and speech. Actions like turning the dials is also good for developing the small muscles in children’s hands.
It would be even better if...
It would be nice if there was a little bit more detail in the set, which could encourage more in-depth role play. For example, there wasn’t a shelf inside the cooker, and the hobs were flat.
