What is it
With ‘I learn to read’ children learn to read and spell words in a fun and entertaining way, to recognise letters, find letters to match pictures, learn the alphabet and expand their vocabulary. The carefully chosen words consist of a maximum of 5 letters and are part of the vocabulary known by five year old children. The specially designed letter matching system ensures that children can practise spelling and reading independently.
The cards follow a logical sequence, becoming progressively more difficult. The games that your child can play with the ‘I Learn to Read’ are; Can you copy the word?, Can you find the missing letter? – First, Final and Middle letter, and Can you spell the whole word? (for older or more experienced children).
In the box you will find 15 cards with 90 exercises with 3 different levels: copy words, find the beginning, middle and end letter and spell words. All cards and pieces can be neatly packed away in the handy carry case, so children can easily take the game when on the move. With ‘I learn to read’ you can practise at home what you learn at school.

What our experts think
I Learn ‘To Read’ Educational Learning Toy is a fantastic game that encourages reading and spelling in a fun and engaging way. Our testers found it intuitive to use and liked the way it started easy and got progressively harder. The children soon mastered how to play the games on their own, especially as each letter has different pegs in the back, so they know that if the letter doesn’t fit they need to try again.
It was a great game for practising spelling skills and developing reading skills – it supports what children will be learning in school during their Reception Year.
The carry case is compact and keeps everything neat & easy to handle.
