What is it
The ‘Magformers Amazing Police & Rescue’ magnetic construction set contains 26 pieces – 13 Magformers magnetic shapes and 13 add-on accessory pieces.
Using the magnetic geometric shapes and adding the extras, children can make over 30 different emergency-themed vehicles and buildings and experience role play by using the new action transforming pieces – including a ‘siren’ that transforms into propeller blades, a driver cab/cockpit, container/cell and bull bars/window grille.
With a firefighter and police officer figurines, this set is perfect for creative kids who love construction toys and emergency services. There’s a new click-together magnetic wheel design too – so you can make a strong, short-wheelbase by coupling the wheels together – or use the magnetic triple-square (rectangle) to make a longer wheelbase!
The Magformers Police & Rescue Set is fully compatible with all other Magformers sets.
Magformers’ magnetic shapes always securely attach. Pieces are made from a specially-toughened ABS plastic and small neodymium magnets are safely sealed in the edges of each piece. Magformers are tested and approved in quality and safety standards all over the world.
Children can use basic Magformers geometric shapes to create 2D ‘flat’ plans (known as nets), but also 3D figures. It’s very easy to lay Magformers flat, forming a mathematical net, and pull them up to form 3D towers, cubes and other shapes.

What our experts think
This Police & Rescue Magformers set is great for encouraging children to develop their spatial and logical reasoning skills alongside imaginative play. Our testers really enjoyed playing with the whole set – the magnetic part was very simple to understand and the fact they could create their own models really sparked their imaginations.
Touching and combining the magnetic construction pieces is great as a sensory play and helps to develop dexterity as children attach them together. Connecting the magnetic pieces also develops mathematical and scientific thinking as it helps children to understand 2D and 3D shapes and the concepts of space and magnetism. The Police theme was very engaging to our testers, although they would have loved it if the sirens were interactive to make them seem more realistic for when they incorporated the models into their role play.
