What our experts think
The Morphun Gearphun system is designed to be strong, durable and flexible, and we liked that it taught the children about the physics of gears in a fun and engaging way. Our testers enjoyed engaging in free play and making their own creations from the available pieces, promoting creative and flexible thinking. They were impressed with the variety of pieces available to them and once shown the booklet, they enjoyed making some of the designs from the clear and easy to follow instructions.
We enjoyed watching them develop their problem-solving skills and teamwork when discussing how to make the cogs work, it required them to use logic and strategy which are important components in science and technology. Morphun sets support the National Curriculum and STEM education. The cards with tasks enable children to develop their ability to follow instructions, and these become progressively more difficult which means the set will grow with the children. Some of our testers did need to be shown how to attach the pieces but once it was demonstrated they didn’t need any further help.
