What our experts think
Our testers really enjoyed playing with the ship and characters and it was well suited to little hands. We loved listening to the children make up their own stories as they played… there were some particularly good pirate voices and squawking parrots! The ship floats on water, making it perfect for bath time or the paddling pool, which is great as water play can promote hand-eye coordination and teach the basic scientific concepts of floating and sinking.
The canon was a big hit with our testers and there were lots of sound effects as they ‘fired’ it. The children also found that they could incorporate other toys they had to enhance their imaginative play. This kind of play is so important as it develops creativity and storytelling skills and also allows children to act out and make sense of real world scenarios, which benefits their personal, social and emotional development.
