What our experts think
A fun and engaging Playmobil set that really appealed to our testers. They immediately immersed themselves in imaginative play and were constantly creating their own stories as they played. This kind of play promotes creativity and also benefits personal, social and emotional development as children can act out and make sense of real world scenarios. The children were eager to share their knowledge of dinosaurs with others – there was real scope for asking and answering questions and discussion. This peer interaction alongside play develops understanding and knowledge and builds vocabulary.
Our testers really liked the moving T-Rex and all of the accessories, which were used imaginatively and creatively. They also really liked the torch and how it lit up the ‘eyes’ of the temple and brought out different wall drawings, which teaches the important concept of cause and effect. The construction of this set needed adult help. Some of the connections were stiff and needed brute force and accuracy to get into place. The instructions were reasonably easy to follow but they did need some adult assistance – it took about 40 minutes to assemble the whole set.
