What is it
Designed to present the easiest possible approach to learning the Harmonica. Using the coloured musical notes, arrows and hole stickers, learning is simple. The visual style of the book is great for ages 3-15 years, as well as students with learning difficulties or dyslexia. The system is a wonderful opportunity for parents and teachers to interact with their children while teaching them to play a new instrument.
The harmonica package comes with a metal 4 hole harmonica in the key of C, Rainbow Colours book, 4 colour coded stickers and packaged in a full colour box.

What our experts think
The Rainbow Colours Harmonica Set was really popular, and it was lovely to see our testers starting to pick up the skill and even play recognisable tunes. They had great fun learning too!
This is a great introduction to reading and playing musical notes, using colour coding to make it easier. As children learn where the colours are on the instrument, they can focus on following the notes in front of them. This is good for improving concentration and memory skills.
Learning to play an instrument is great for creativity, and the Rainbow Colours set encourages children to compose their own music using the same colour coding.
It would be even better if...
The main issue children had was being able to see the colours on the harmonica as they are playing, so to start with they have to pause between every colour change to find the next one. Younger children also needed help to get started using the colour coded notes.
All of our testers would have liked more songs to play. It would be good to have a better step-by-step guide for composing music too.
