What our experts think
Mirror play is a brilliant way for children to explore the concept of self (I, me, mine) and this mirror is perfect for doing that. It is colourful and caught the attention of our little testers; for such a simple toy, there was lots for baby to explore – which held and developed attention and provided multi-sensory stimulation.
The crinkle noises from the butterfly were a big hit and the children enjoyed trying to make the sound, which teaches early cause and effect logic and fosters curiosity. Toys that encourage baby to reach out and grasp things strengthen arm and hand muscles, promoting fine motor control. We liked that the toy is adaptable and can be used for tummy time as well as being hung on a cot or playpen, and can be folded – this also makes it ideal for taking out and about.
