What our experts think
Ticket to Ride Europe was really popular with our testers who loved how challenging the game was. There was a lot of concentrating as children used strategies and made decisions about how to take their turn making this a great game for thinking skills. Although the game took a long time to play (around an hour) our testers stayed focused the whole time, which is ideal for improving their attention skills.
We like the way children can also learn a bit of geography as they play, as the board is a map with some labelled cities. Board games such as this are also good for encouraging children to play together, developing social skills and teaching them to win and lose respectfully. We found the instructions were tricky to understand at first but after a few plays, our testers got the hang of the game.
