What is it
The new Zoomer Show Pony is a fashionable, interactive pony that children can interact with: they can feed, groom and train the pony to perform different tricks. She moves on her own and has expressive light-up eyes that move and change shape to show how she is feeling; she knows when her cheeks and nose are being stroked and responds with pony sounds.
She’ll even neigh, “I love you.” Press her heart badge on her chest, she’ll perform tricks including dancing or doing a figure 8. She comes with four interactive accessories: an apple, carrot, sugar cube and hair brush to get her “Show Pony” ready.

What our experts think
This interactive horse proved very popular and really held the children’s interest. The testers did need to have an initial explanation from an adult, but after that they were off exploring what the toy could do – without adult input, they would have missed some of the features.
We liked the way in which the toy taught the children how to look after a pet; they had to respond to its needs and give appropriate attention. The children loved brushing her mane and listening to the appreciative noises the made in response; they also liked what happened when they fed her a sugar cube!
It is a toy that can grow with a child as younger children could just groom and play with her whereas older children can teach her tricks. We really liked the way in which it could be taught a sequence of moves.
The information sheet was a good point of reference to the children as it usually showed them what the different eyes meant. We liked how this encouraged the children to follow instructions: for example, the horse would tell them when she was full up and didn’t want anymore sugar lumps! Some of the children really showed their caring side and were very concerned with working out exactly what the horse wanted them to do!
We tested the horse on carpet and a smoother surface: it worked on both, but was better on the smoother one.
