Homemade Pizza Recipe

Homemade pizza is a delicious and easy recipe that kids of all ages can enjoy making.

Here’s a simple recipe for kids under 12 to make their own pizza from scratch.

We’ve also included suggestions for substituting ingredients to accommodate different dietary requirements.

  • 500g pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 125g tomato sauce
  • 250g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Toppings of your choice (such as pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and olives)

For vegetarians: Substitute the pepperoni with sliced tomatoes or roasted vegetables such as eggplant or zucchini.

For vegans: Use vegan cheese or substitute with cashew cheese and omit the pepperoni.

For halal: Use halal-certified meat or substitute with turkey or chicken sausage.

For pescatarians: Substitute pepperoni with smoked salmon or tuna.

For kosher: Use kosher-certified cheese and meat.

For gluten-free: Use a gluten-free pizza dough or crust.

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Dust a work surface with flour and roll out the pizza dough to your desired size and shape.
  3. Place the rolled-out dough on a pizza pan or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the tomato sauce.
  6. Add your desired toppings.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Encourage your child to get creative with their toppings and experiment with different combinations. And don’t forget to have fun while making and eating your homemade pizza!
