Apples and Bananas is a bright and engaging educational app for preschoolers and children in the first years of school. It offers a range of games, songs, videos and stories across multiple areas of learning, and with its colourful graphics and fun activities, our testers were quickly absorbed in play.

The app features a huge variety of activities that suit different styles of learning and focus on different skills or subjects. From letters, shapes and numbers to colouring, puzzles and sorting games, there are plenty of opportunities for children to explore, practise and apply their knowledge. Some elements, such as the multiplication and division games, were more challenging for our younger testers, but these provided a nice opportunity for the slightly older children to practise what they had been learning at school. A few games lacked prompts, but with light adult support this did not impact overall enjoyment.

Children were keen to return to the app, excited to try new activities and experiment with different games, and it was easy to see the sense of achievement they felt when completing challenges or creating something new.
