What our experts think

The app features many beloved characters from CBeebies shows like Octonauts, Hey Duggee, Alpha Blocks and Number Blocks, and the children were thrilled to recognise these familiar faces. Navigation was straightforward, with helpful hints available when needed, ensuring a smooth experience for the children. Supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, the app offers a wide variety of interactive games and short videos, making learning fun while covering essential skills like numbers, shapes, letters, and sounds. It also covers new experiences, such as starting school, making friends, and trying new foods, which can be particularly valuable for preschoolers.

The wellbeing section was popular, which included a workout with Dr Ranj and a washing hands song by Mr Tumble, promoting healthy habits in a fun way that the children enjoyed. They also found the educational content on different religions and their festivals interesting, broadening their understanding of the world. As children progressed through the games, they became more challenging, encouraging them to collect stars and stay motivated. The mix of songs, colouring activities, videos, and interactive games caters to different learning styles, meaning there was something for everyone to enjoy. Overall, the CBeebies Go Explore app is an engaging, educational tool that’s perfect for young learners preparing for school.
