Our little testers were really attracted to the bright colours and patterns of this cloth book. The different textures and sounds also piqued their curiosity, encouraging interaction and developing hand and finger muscles and coordination (known as fine motor control). The rattle also enables children to experiment with cause and effect logic, learning that shaking the toy creates a sound. The squeaker was too difficult for a baby to squeeze, but they enjoyed hearing an adult use it!
The book also introduces children to the basics of reading (e.g. turning the pages) and encourages an interest in books from an early age. Imaginative parents can even cuddle up with their baby and tell a story from the pictures, encouraging listening and language skills.
