What our experts think
It was delightful to witness how excited the girls and boys became from start to completion. Further, their fun, engagement, and learning continued beyond the build phase as they explored, augmented, and created missions using their Space Academy and extra materials included.
During the build phase, the girls and boys alternated between quiet, concentration and excitement as each structure began to take shape. Before starting a new structure or component, they played and explored the capabilities of the structure and started to build a storyline for its use with the various characters. The children were enthusiastic and proud about their accomplishment. They placed the complete set out for display or immediately included it into their play station with dramatic missions they created. The children really enjoyed that the set came with four (4) characters and interactive parts. The accessories such as the moon rock, detailed stickers, and the detail on the computers also captured their attention and furthered their creative play. The Canadarm, observatory, interactive orbiting model of planets, and multi-axis trainer were the centre of their dramatic play. This set fosters creativity and curiosity, encourages following instructions, hones fine motor skills, and builds executive functioning.
