What our experts think
This is a really fun game that is suitable for a range of ages – it proved very popular with our testers and the children enjoyed finding the correct pieces for their faces. The set promotes the recognition of different facial expressions and emotions; this could be particularly good for use with ASD children who may struggle with this.
The children really enjoyed playing this as a game making it brilliant for developing communication and attention skills as well as vocabulary associated with faces and emotions. The set can also be played with by one child; this was popular with our younger testers who loved using their imagination and creativity to make different faces (the older ones preferred the game element). Some of the younger children had difficulties identifying some of the facial features so the adult put them into categories for them – the set would have benefited from little bags for the different elements to make this process easier.
