What our testers said
“It would be a lovely gift, something a little different to the norm. The bowl was deep which is great for little ones, we love the suction so they can’t be thrown around.” – Childminder of children aged 2, 3 and 10 months
“Really cute and I think as the babies get older, they will love the animal shape of the plate.” – Childminder of two children aged 6 months
What our experts think
This bamboo plate gift set is beautifully made, strong and sturdy. The animal theme is visually appealing, especially as little ones grow. The deep bowl makes it easy for babies to scoop their food up, encouraging them to develop the important pincer grip as well as skills in coordination and dexterity. The suction on the bottom also works very well, meaning that food is much less likely to end up on the floor during mealtimes!
It is worth noting that you do need to remove the silicone pieces to wash and wait each time for them to dry fully before refitting the pieces. This also means that the set is not suitable for use in the dishwasher. However, the plastic and lead-free nature of the set makes it great for those keen to be environmentally conscious. To keep the bamboo looking its best, it is recommended that you re-oil with coconut oil and leave it overnight once a month.
