Our testers were intrigued when they first saw the Superspace set. After the adults showed them that the edges of each panel were magnetic and demonstrated how to join them together, the children were very excited and wanted to get building straight away. Ages ranged from 3 - 12 years, and all children could be independent in their play as the differently shaped panels easily joined together and pulled apart, meaning adjustments could be made as they experimented with different designs. The panels aren’t heavy, so even the younger testers were able to move them around easily, helping to develop their motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
The children used their imagination and came up with lots of ideas about what to build. They built constructions such as an igloo, jack in the box, castle, and rocket ship. Once structures were completed, the children used them in their roleplay, adding another dimension to their play, and helping to bring their imaginary worlds to life.
As the children built their structures they came up against obstacles such as ‘walls’ not being stable enough, but by persevering and using trial and error, they tried different configurations to work out how best to join the panels together and make stronger structures. While building their creations, the children used their mathematical skills as they counted out panels, estimated how many of each panel they would need, and discussed sizes and shapes.
The set encouraged collaborative play and communication, as the children realised that working together and listening to each other’s ideas and advice led to better outcomes.

The Superspace tiles are also eco friendly! The eco-felt made from recycled plastic bottles making them durable but lightweight soft and easy to clean! The tiles also pack away inside each other making it great for storage.
