The Gruffalo Playset encourages children to build something themselves that they can use for imaginative play, the superfood of a balanced play diet. The simple construction helps children to follow instructions and use their logical thinking skills. The children found it fairly easy to fit pieces together themselves, although younger ones needed a little adult assistance.
The familiar character of the Gruffalo encouraged discussions about animals and where they live and also provided a springboard for the children’s make-believe play. Acting out stories they have heard is great for developing communication and language skills as it helps them to piece together and make sense of a narrative.
