This wooden, Noah’s Ark themed play set allows children to engage in small-world play, developing their creativity and language skills. The children enjoyed marching the animals in and moving the boat across the floor, pretending it was the sea. This kind of imaginative play helps children to act out and make sense of different parts of the world around them.
As they verbalise and narrate their play, they also develop important vocabulary, language and storytelling skills. By filling and emptying the boat and fitting the animals and shapes through the holes, children improve their visual thinking skills and understanding of shape and space. The pieces in the play set are sturdy and a nice size for small hands to grip and the children also enjoyed matching them up into pairs.
