Description

Among Us is a popular social deduction game designed for 4–15 players, available to play online or via local WiFi. Participants work together to prepare a spaceship for departure, but must remain alert as one or more players act as impostors attempting to sabotage the mission.

Key features of the gameplay include:

  • Crewmate Objectives: Players win by successfully completing all assigned technical tasks or by correctly identifying and voting the impostors off the ship.
  • Impostor Strategy: Those assigned the role of impostor use sabotage to create chaos, providing opportunities for alibis and stealthy movements.
  • Skill Development: The game encourages teamwork, logic, and effective communication during high-stakes player discussions.

This engaging app is Recommended by Dr Gummer’s Good Play Guide for its ability to blend strategic thinking with interactive, social play.

"I love playing in private rooms with my school friends. We work together on the tasks" - Boy aged 9

"The characters are so cute and I like collecting the different hats." - Girl aged 10
The Among Us app was very popular with our testers, who quickly got stuck into the mystery and teamwork needed to find the “Imposter” among their crew. Designed for children aged 9 and up, this social deduction game encourages critical thinking, collaboration and quick problem solving through fast-paced rounds. Most children found the gameplay easy to pick up and exciting. They quickly became immersed in completing tasks while keeping an eye out for suspicious behaviour. A range of maps, along with customisable “skins” and “pets,” added variety and supported imaginative play, helping the experience stay fresh and engaging.

The social side of the game was enjoyed by our testers. Children discussed, debated, and defended their actions during emergency meetings, which helped develop communication skills. Parents also valued the built-in safety features, such as “Quick Chat” for younger players and the option to host private games, ensuring children can play within a trusted group of friends. Available for free (with optional in-app purchases), Among Us is a fun and strategic app that successfully combines logical thinking with social interaction.
