What our experts think
This robust Doctor Case was great for introducing children to learning about the role of doctors and encouraging educational role-playing scenarios. By learning about what doctors do through discussion around the kit, this subsequently helped the children understand their role in helping people. This fared particularly well with one of our testers who had a doctors appointment at the time of testing and might benefit children who are nervous or reluctant to go.
The children were very inquisitive about how each of the instruments in the box worked and role-played a doctors appointment scenario. They created a sickbay and took the roles of doctors and patients. Playing like this is great for developing children’s understanding of the world around them, as they act out and make sense of familiar scenarios. An explanation booklet about what all of the items were might have been helpful, however, the children explained their own uses for some of the instruments which were very amusing!
