Description
Doddl cutlery is specifically designed to help the transition to using standard cutlery.
The handle has been developed to make it easy for young children to hold and control, so they can eat independently with more success. The uniquely designed Doddl knife supports the child’s hand and wrist, promoting the same grip that is required for a standard knife.
What our testers said
“The Doddl cutlery has been a complete revelation in my house!” Mother of girl aged 19 months
“I’m a big girl mummy, I can cut my sausages like [my sister].” Girl aged 3 1/2
What our experts think
As children get older they start to discover a sense of independence and as part of this, want to be able to feed themselves. However, as any parent will know, this can result in food all over the table and floor, with the child resorting to their hands just to get the food in their mouths.
So our parent testers were delighted with the Doddl cutlery set – from spaghetti bolognese to peas, the specially designed children’s cutlery made meal times much less frustrating! Our testers did need some help getting used to the cutlery at first (the knife in particular) but the set is a much-needed transition towards adult cutlery.
The set not only encourages self-care and independence but also develops hand grip and control – this is important for other self-care routines (e.g. doing up buttons on clothes) and holding a pencil to write.
