Combining tactile exploration, creative construction and imaginative play, the Jelly Blox Construction Site quickly captured our testers’ attention. Children particularly enjoyed using the digger and cement mixer, creating their own building projects and exploring the unusual, squishy feel of the blocks. The images on the box provided useful inspiration, while children also enjoyed developing their own ideas and structures.
Some pieces, particularly the vehicle wheels, were tricky to fit together at first, but children persisted and were pleased when they succeeded independently. The blocks’ less stable nature encouraged them to experiment with different combinations, make predictions and adapt their approach when structures did not work as expected. The two vehicles also supported group play, with children taking turns, sharing ideas and working together. A hands-on set that encourages children to build, experiment and create, Jelly Blox Construction Site offers plenty of opportunities for developing problem-solving skills, perseverance, creativity and communication through play.
