Our testers quickly got stuck into building towers, bridges and imaginative creations of all shapes and sizes! Some children started by exploring the guidebook included with the set, using it for ideas and inspiration for their builds, while others simply used their imagination. The open-ended nature of the set encouraged independent exploration, with children confidently testing, adjusting and rebuilding their wooden designs. This kind of hands-on play is great for developing problem solving skills and perseverance, especially when structures didn’t go to plan – children were motivated to try again using new strategies.
We observed plenty of teamwork during group play, as children discussed ideas, took turns and worked together to build larger models. This collaboration supported communication, compromise and self-expression.
