What our experts think

The bright engaging pages captivated the children, and they loved seeing Paddington appear as they worked their way through the activities. With a mix of tracing, letter formation (in upper and lower cases), mazes and quizzes, children remained entertained while gradually improving their pencil grip, control, letter formation and letter recognition.

The variety of activities helped maintain focus and motivation, making writing feel like play rather than a chore. The included coloured pencils were easy to hold, although a few shades were a little light on the page. Best used with adult support, the clear directional arrows for letter formation helped reinforce correct writing techniques, and the spiral binding ensured that the book stayed flat when in use – perfect for little hands.

The stickers at the back were a fun extra that parents generally used as rewards for completing each activity, adding an extra layer of encouragement. A good quality workbook that helps build children’s confidence and prepares them for school in a fun and interactive way.
