"Ah, now I understand. I can move this one and get all those tokens!" - Boy, aged 12
"I love the bag and picking the tokens out of it." - Boy, aged 8
A two player strategy game that really encouraged our testers to think ahead and carefully plan their moves. With only 16 moves in each game, every turn can completely change the outcome, keeping players focused and involved until the very end. The children enjoyed progressing through the three levels of the cave and collecting as many gems as possible to beat their opponent’s score.
The game supports problem solving and logical thinking, as players must strategically place their tokens while also predicting what their opponent may do next. It was interesting to see how the children’s strategies developed over multiple games; initially moves were more random, but over time they began planning ahead and learning from previous rounds. The competitive element kept them motivated and encouraged concentration and resilience when trying different tactics.
The clear visuals and simple scoring system made the game accessible for a range of abilities, although some of our testers felt it may be more suitable for children aged 9 or 10+ rather than the recommended 8+.
