What our experts think
Our testers found the mud kitchen easy to assemble, with some children successfully putting it together independently, using the instructions, with no adult assistance. As soon as the children began to play, creativity, roleplay, and social interaction flourished. They experimented with making “cakes,” “soups,” and the classic “mud pies” using natural ingredients like mud, grass, leaves, sand, and water. A standout feature was the water dispenser, which works like a real tap, adding excitement and realism to their play, although it was a little tricky to work for the younger children.
The accessories included such as a pestle and mortar and sieve, really helped to enhance the experience, making roleplay even more engaging. Playing with mud kitchen helps to support fine motor skill development as children mix, pour, and combine ingredients. It was lovely to see lots of social interaction and independent play, as the children worked together with minimal adult support. Made from 90% recycled plastic, it’s a durable and eco-friendly choice for outdoor fun and a great choice for little explorers!
