What our experts think
The Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket is great for encouraging shape and colour recognition alongside imaginative play. The children enjoyed the lights and sounds the basket made as they correctly put the shapes through the holes. Matching and sorting games are excellent for introducing problem-solving skills and improving hand-eye coordination.
Our testers enjoyed using the picnic basket in their role play – they explored different food that was recognisable to them and mimicked the ‘eating’ of it. Free, imaginative play is the superfood of the balanced play diet and acting out different real-life scenarios like this in their pretend play helps children to make sense of the world around them.
