Description

Let’s go on a shopping adventure in Numberland!

Recommended by Dr Gummer’s Good Play Guide, the Numberblocks® Add It Up Mini Market from Learning Resources® helps children explore early maths skills through imaginative play. With Numberblock Four as the shopkeeper, little ones can enjoy role play while learning to add and count.

The 28-piece set includes:

  • Numberblock Four figure
  • Produce stand and checkout counter
  • Shopping trolley and 8 produce baskets
  • 16 double-sided coins
  • Interactive till with turning wheel
  • Multilingual Activity Guide and packaging

Children can fill their baskets, add up their shopping totals, and practise using coins to pay at the till. With engaging “numbery” features at every stage, the Mini Market supports number recognition, counting, and addition in a fun, hands-on way.

"Mummy what is 4 and 3 together, so I pay the right money?" - Boy, aged 4

"Look, I'm paying the checkout person the money." - Girl, aged 4
The Add It Up Mini Market's bright colours and Numberblock Four character immediately captured the children's attention. They enjoyed filling the little trolley with shopping, sorting by colour and number, and paying at the till. The roleplay element was a real hit, sparking imaginative scenarios; teddies became shoppers, and action figures took on the role of shopkeeper. Children played happily on their own but also enjoyed inviting others to join in, practising turn taking and sharing.

Parents were impressed by how the toy seamlessly blends play with practising early maths skills such as counting, addition and number recognition in a 'real world' context. The children particularly liked the cardboard coins included in the set. Each differently coloured coin represents a different amount and encouraged the children to pay with the correct coins rather than just using one coin per item. This encouraged problem solving, while also helping early financial understanding.

With its combination of imaginative role play and hands-on number practice, the Add It Up Mini Market makes early maths feel like fun.
- Inspires imaginative play

- Builds counting and addition skills

- Develops an early understanding of money
