The Magna-Tiles Metropolis set allows children to get creative while learning important STEM skills in order to build their very own city or landscape. As they design and build structures from their own imagination, children take ownership of their own learning, developing visual planning and logical thinking skills. The large size of this set makes it perfect for several children to play with together, encouraging teamwork and communication.
The ability to experiment in a hands-on way also makes learning about concepts such as geometry and magnetism fun. For example, working out that the magnetic pieces can be used to strengthen and join their structure together. The creative freedom to build whatever they want resulted in castles, hotels, windmills, gardens and even skating rinks! There were fantastic opportunities to engage in post-build imaginative play with their structures, which allows children to build confidence and develop language and storytelling skills.
