As they press the directional arrow buttons on the roof of the rover in order to program the space rover to go on exploration-inspired coding missions that play out right in front of them, they build early coding and STEM skills through hands-on activities.

Teachers can use this set in any KS1 classroom to help children learn the fundamentals of programming through fun play-based activities. These versatile space rover robot is also ideal for play-based learning at STEM clubs or at home.
The 51-piece Space Rover Deluxe Coding Activity Set comes with a silver rover and all the accessories young coders need to build a maze and code their Space Rover to move through it, navigating STEM challenges along the way.

What our testers said

What our experts think

This space themed coding activity set allows children to build, test and solve their own space mazes and hone their coding skills through fun challenges and missions set along the way. Our testers liked that they could programme different routes for the rover to travel along. making them harder and more challenging as the children grew in confidence.

The younger testers particularly liked the game where the rover had to collect the magnetic space rock. They enjoyed both following the challenges supplied in the book and also making up their own. Under each challenge are facts and they loved to read them and learn more about space.

Older testers commented how age appropriate it was, meaning once the children had been shown how to play, they were able to continue exploring independently. The Space Rover coding set encourages creative problem solving, logical thinking and reinforces counting, sequential and computational skills.
